I invite Nangle to visit our Main Street neighborhood

I am writing in response to William Nangle's July 28 column, "NWI needs better roads." I take offense to him labeling those of us NIMBYs (not in my backyard) because we are against the Main Street extension.

The Meadows subdivision of Dyer is a quiet, beautiful place where we have lived for 14 years. I welcome Nangle to come to my home. Join me and some of the neighbors for coffee and Munster Donuts.

We can then take a very short walk to the end of the street. There he will see beautiful farmlands that attract birds and small animals that will be transformed to a four-lane, 45 mph road.

If Munster succeeds in the Main Street extension, I am concerned about noise and air pollution as well as drainage issues for our subdivision.

Until he takes the walk with us, he is not really qualified to do the talk. If the road goes through, he might want to make an offer on our duplex. We are located very close to the future Main Street extension.
