I'm disgusted with elected officials' job performance

I'm a senior citizen, and every four years I look forward to the election of politicians thinking it will get better in America. But it just gets worse.

I listen and read all the campaign speeches and ads, and I vote. Today, for me to grade the president, Congress and Gov. Pat Quinn on a scale of 1 to 10, it would be only a 1.

The president promised jobs. Where are they? Unemployment is around 9 percent.

Because of the cost of fuel, the food stores are raising prices weekly. Almost every week I read about a company either closing or moving to a foreign country.

I'm to the point of believing no elected officials are qualified to run the United States or Illinois.

The cost of medicine is ridiculous. Some prescriptions are $500 or more, yet the same pills made here in the USA cost only $25 in other countries. Not one politician has put a bill forward to correct the cost of medicine.

We need someone like F.D. Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan to get us out of this mess.
