On Jan. 21, I lost my right kidney to cancer. As I was dealing with the realization of what I had gone through, I read a recent article about a woman who had donated one of her kidneys to her son’s high school coach. That was a courageous and unselfish act if I’ve ever seen one. So I tip my hat to Patty Cowser, my hero.
