My family moved to Hebron just last summer. I am proud to be raising my boys in such a wonderful community. I've read what is being said on the referendum. I see many people saying things like our taxes are higher than most.

Well, you can look at the numbers and say our property taxes are higher than, say Jasper County. This is true; however, our income taxes are much lower.

I would much prefer my money in the hands of our local schools. The bottom line is the state took our school’s money, our kids' money. These kids are the future of our community.

We need to step up and help them now or we will not have a community anymore. They will make more cuts next year and keep trying to keep things running, but at what cost?

Vote yes.
