If you pass a test to drive, why not to own a weapon?

In response to the Feb. 21 letter by Patricia Van Gennep of Lake Village, where she said the right to bear arms is so we could protect ourselves from a tyrannical government, I have asked dozens of times, with no answer, just what is your AR15 or AK47 going to do against your imaginary "tyrannical government" that has chemical weapons, tanks, smart bombs, stealth fighters, heat-seeking missiles, long-range rockets, etc.?

No one is attempting to take your little gun from you, but the Supreme Court has ruled that reasonable limits can be placed on you.

What would you consider the meaning of "a well-regulated militia"? Do you think you are a member of "a well-regulated militia," or are our armed forces and law enforcement officers what the Constitution speaks of?

Please explain to us lesser informed how our leaders are trampling the Constitution and breaking our laws. What firearms are this administration attempting to deny you? Is it unconstitutional to ban 30- to 100-round clips, require background checks at gun shows and private sales, to create and enforce a federal criminal database that includes mental patients, domestic abusers, child molesters?

You are required to pass a test and register your vehicle in order to drive. Why not the same for your weapons?
