We want to thank all the volunteers who have been helping in the Merrillville cat rescue. Since The Times told the story of 60 cats living in a Merrillville home, we have been able to remove 30 plus cats into foster or forever homes.

We are especially grateful for the amazing veterinary care and help. They are truly the cats' guardian angels. To those families who have taken a cat, thank you.

After receiving several time extensions to relocate the cats, a firm date has been issued. Most local shelters are full, so in order to save the cats remaining in the house, we need more foster families. The cats are on a waiting list in several local shelters.

In the meantime, they need a place to stay while they wait. Please call (219) 769-1859 if you can help.
