In reference to William Nangle's Sept. 8 column on the Illiana Expressway, I would like to remind him and all other editors they have a responsibility to their readers. Please do your research before expressing your opinions on the Illiana toll road.

It is not an expressway; it is a toll road. The cost was underestimated, traffic flow was inflated, taxpayers will end up with the income shortage and maintenance expenses, and it has no significant benefit to the 11 miles of toll road in Northwest Indiana.
