Income tax isn't much of a burden, Lake County

I feel fortunate to currently live on the east side of the Lake/Porter county line. Sure, we do have a local income tax, but we've been accustomed to this for as long as I've lived here.

Because of unfortunate circumstances and budgeting, Lake County might soon have to impose this tax on its citizens to cover this sizable loan being considered by Porter County Treasurer Mike Bucko.

Government derives its power (or dollar values) from the people, and what better way other than cutting costs, programs or government workers than to impose a tax on its citizens?

Granted this tax will not be so burdening to the people because gutting bridge repair and flood control costs are more than likely not an avenue worth exploring as seen in recent years.
