This is in response to Thomas Herzog’s Nov. 8 comments. You cannot say Jesus was liberal and President Barack Obama is liberal, so he can be a Christian.

This extends deeper into the Bible, which Herzog says people need to understand before making the original claim. The letter was referring to the values that the president stands for: partial birth abortion, gay marriage, etc.

When Jesus came to Earth, he came to guide each of us on these important issues and to teach us how to serve God; he did not come for any political reason.

The letter claiming that Obama could not be a Christian because he was a liberal used the term “liberal” to stand for the values Jesus said were wrong, because those are the policies the president backs.
