Jesus said to pray in private, not in public places

Those who say they are Christian quite often voice opinions that praying to God in public places such as public schools is what Jesus taught.

Prayer in public is clearly not what Jesus said. In fact, He said exactly the opposite.

Jesus was unambiguous in stating His followers should be by themselves and privately pray to God. He went on the say that those who love to pray in public are "hypocrites" -- "to be seen by men."

Check out Matthew 6:5.
