On Nov. 6, America re-elected economic incompetence.
We could have chosen less government intrusion, fiscal discipline, lower taxes and equal opportunity for all. Instead, we chose to continue our descent into a European socialist model of more government, stagnant unemployment and expanding dependency.
The last four years has proven that bigger government simply doesn't work. Yet President Barack Obama is interested in an increasingly powerful central government that picks winners and losers, and confiscates even more from the dwindling population of producers.
Mitt Romney's in-eloquent comment about "the 47 percent" was right. Nearly half of U.S. citizens pay no federal income taxes while taxpayers are constantly criticized as not "paying their fair share." Instead of demonizing achievement, shouldn't we celebrate and encourage success?
America has always been the land of opportunity. It has sadly become land of opportunism.
