I read the Feb. 24 Young Voices column by Sofia Grimsgard, and I agree with her 100 percent. What a beautiful article about her heritage. That's the way it should be, to learn the nationality your parents are and traditions.

Spanish isn't for everyone. Our schools are pushing Spanish starting in kindergarten. This isn't right.

When it's time to learn a language the children could decide in high school what language to learn. When the Mexicans come to our country, it's up to them to learn English. When my grandparents came to this country, they had to learn English to survive.

Keep up the good work, Sofia. You have a wonderful outlook on life.
