Leave your light on for letter carrier's safety

Those of us who live on the east side of the Lakeside subdivision in Highland need to put our porch lights on each day, now that it gets dark so early.

We've always gotten our mail very late as we are the end of the route (usually between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.). We need to be concerned about the safety our mail lady Tracey, who is delivering our mail in total darkness. She can't leave the post office until 8:30 a.m., because there are not enough clerks to get the mail sorted earlier.

To me this is just crazy, having a woman out delivering mail in the dark. I know it is her job, but let's give her a hand and a little light! We all need to call the post office and express our concern for her!
