Let north county residents drive to Valparaiso

During the 52 years I have lived in Portage Township, I have visited the Porter County auditor's office two or three times. I found the personnel to be very efficient and courteous.

There is no need to open a second auditor's office in Portage. This would be an irresponsible waste of taxpayers' money.

It seems Portage has splurged money on a fancy building and is trying to justify its existence. Why the city has gone into the rental business is beyond me.

If the residents of Kouts, Hebron, etc., can drive to Valparaiso, so can north county residents. If Portage has a surplus of money, maybe they could paint the traffic lanes on Central Avenue.
