Lake County Councilman Ted Bilski (D) proposes a Lake County income tax of 1.5 percent so they can lower the property tax. No smoke being blown there.

Council members Jerome Prince (D), Elsie Franklin (D) and David Hamm (D) voted for it. Hey, let's have everyone who voted for Democrats pay the 1.5 percent.

There are many pages in The Times of people in Lake County who owe property taxes. Let's collect those first.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cellphones, you might live in a nation founded by geniuses but run by idiots.
