Leave it to Lake County politicos to try to pull another fast one picking Judge Nicolas Schirally to serve as Juvenile Court judge.

Three of the applicants for the position are magistrates who worked for more than a decade under Juvenile Court Judge Mary Beth Bonaventura as assistants and are better qualified than someone new to this area of expertise.
