Make a service member's day: Tell him or her thanks

I stopped for gasoline in Highland. When a car parked in back of me to get gas, he started to walk toward me and then he pointed at my license plate, which is a purple heart plate. He had his hand out to shake my hand and thanked me for my service to our country.

That young man made my day. I was happy the rest of the day.

I think whenever you see a service girl or man you should go up to them and thank them for their service to our country. Many of them will be coming home for the holidays.

Please be advised these young people volunteered to be in the service of our country. Some of them for the GI bill to further their education, some joined because they can't find a job, some join because their parents were in the service. Whatever the reason they joined the service, thank them for their service and I'm sure they will appreciate it.
