Mentoring youths could help them succeed in life

No gun control, no prayer in school. Well, why not love?

"What the world needs now is love sweet love, that's the only thing there is just too little of..." Remember that song? It's true, especially now. Our country is deteriorating in morality (right conduct).

While visiting a high school I felt like crying: a row of angry boys in the office making bad comments, and two police cars in front holding a student. Does this happen every day?

Are we helping our young people? What's lacking? There is a need for more attention and love, more men mentoring boys in Northwest Indiana. These boys want to belong, feel wanted and accepted. Is this why these boys join gangs?

Preachers, teachers, parents and everyone in the "village" can stop the deterioration of morals, reduce the crime rate and prison population with more love toward these young people.
