Millions for ice rink, but not for pothole repairs

I noticed in The Times on March 27 that spring is here and the public works department is trying to figure the best way to fix our crumbling streets with only the $1.5 million budgeted to them.

Obviously this was no concern to the powers at City Hall. No thought was given to how the Public Works Department was going to cope with this.

Isn't it interesting that a couple of weeks earlier the same powers at City Hall gave a lot of concern and thought into sinking $8 million into a quarter of a block downtown for some ice rink?

Not only that, but it also cost $821,000 to draw these plans up, and lucky us we get to see the plans this month. Wow. See where the powers at City Hall's priorities are?

You can drive downtown to look unless you bust a tie rod in a pothole on the way there.
