I believe, as a legal Indiana resident, that state Sen. Frank Mrvan is wrong in his plan to issue driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
His logic escapes me: "Getting a license means proving the ability to drive well," and "auto insurance would protect other drivers."
Why would an official of the state of Indiana think that a person who arrived here illegally would (1) bother to get a license to drive, (2) be able to safely navigate our roads, read the signs, understand the laws of the road and (3) bother to buy insurance coverage?
They are here illegally. Doesn't Mrvan get it?
When you visit a country legally, you are a guest in that country but that still does not entitle you to citizen benefits. Illegals technically have no rights to benefits.
