State Sen Frank Mrvan's idea to let illegal immigrants have Indiana driver's licenses is nothing short of pandering.

I suggest he get a dictionary and find the meaning for the word “illegal.” These individuals are already breaking the law just being here. Will a piece of paper turn them into model citizens? Does he really think it will increase their driving ability?

Do these illegal immigrants have insurance now? If not, why would they acquire it after being given a license?

The laws are there for all people regardless of nationality. Will Mrvan's proposal also change the law for illegal Polish, Russian and African illegal immigrants? Mrvan's statement only mentions the Hispanic ones. Laws are to apply to all people, not just one group, and especially not to groups of individuals in this state/country illegally.
