Surprise is not the word for it, but it’s the only thing I can say.

After former Republican President Dwight Eisenhower got the ball rolling about building highways across the United States, I’m surprised about the Republican Govs. Mitch Daniels and Mike Pence that they both have thrown mud in Eisenhower’s face by letting such an opportunity to pass and nixed the idea of rebuilding the Cline Avenue bridge.

Northwest Indiana has already paid for the building of the Cline bridge, and now will pay to build it again plus tolls.

Dirty politics is in southern Indiana as well as Northwest Indiana. I guess that’s what we have to live with and pay for.
