A recent letter from Valparaiso recklessly claims the GOP is destroying Medicare, when in fact Republicans are searching for a sensible way to save it from collapse.

However, thousands of Medicare patients are now being denied treatment at cancer clinics. President Barack Obama blames this on the sequester cuts (a budget strategy he himself initiated). But once Obamacare is fully implemented, the rationing of senior care will be standard procedure. So get used to it.

And while Medicare seniors are suffering, the president hosted a lavish "Memphis Soul Jam" at the White House (April 9), courtesy of us lowly taxpayers, who also paid Joe Biden's recent $585,000 bill for a single night in Paris.

And so, as Obama dismantles our health-care system and attacks enterprising Americans who have achieved wealth, he and his elite pals party on.
