Obama's energy policy has fueled discontent
I watched a little of President Barack Obama's campaign, oops, State of the Union, speech. He said he was going to start an "all of the above" approach to energy, including oil and natural gas. He is going to increase oil exploration.
But two months before he took office, all restrictions on exploration were lifted. The price of gas went from $3.80 a gallon to $1.75. In his first month, he reinstated all restrictions. He stopped drilling in the Gulf even when his own commission said it was wrong to do so and a federal court said he couldn't.
He has constantly stopped every effort to make us energy independent. Say Keystone Pipeline.
He talked about the Navy cutting emissions. He didn't say this would be done by using biofuel at $16 a gallon instead of diesel at $4.
