I just got over the shock that 59 million Americans almost made a man president who keeps his money overseas like dictators about to be overthrown are so fond of doing. Now news comes that Indiana is lowering teacher standards to the point that someone with any bachelor’s degree can teach and, add two years' experience, become principal. Couple this with cuts to education and it’s a recipe for keeping us below the national average in college graduates.
Then INDOT reports that low revenues might cause future problems in road/bridge repairs. Wow! Photo finish for Daniels; budget surplus intact! Sorry about the Cline Avenue toll bridge.
Now it’s reported that Lake Ridge schools might outsource custodial and maintenance jobs (and pensions) because of a looming deficit.
We need to pay attention. Politicians are cutting education, forcing outsourcing of jobs and delaying infrastructure needs while we vote over social issues.
