Pizza kindness made me celebrate good Samaritan

I would like to once again thank the good Samaritan who paid for my pizza.

In a rush to pick up the third period treat for the Blackhawks game, I rushed out of the house to pick up the pizza I had ordered to enjoy as we anticipated celebrating the Hawks win.

In my rush, I had forgot to grab my wallet!

As I was walking into the pizza parlor, I met a gentleman at the door. We both seemed to be there for the same reason.

As soon as they called out my name, I reached into my pocket and realized my mistake. I informed the woman at the register what I had done and that I would be right back.

Suddenly, from behind me, the same person I had just met at the door opened his hand and plunked down the amount for my order. I offered for him to take my name or allow me to make arrangements to repay him, but he graciously declined.

I did have some money in my pocket, which he refused to take, so we both decided my contribution would be the tip for the overwhelmed pizza makers.

Again, whoever you are, thank you. Your example of random kindness has not gone unnoticed, as I will follow your example the next opportunity I have to do so.

Go Hawks!
