When hired, your employer expects a fair days work for a fair days pay.

This same standard should apply to elected officials. On the Portage City Council, you have two members who seem to earn their pay by doing appropriate due diligence before voting. Then you have five that seem to do little due diligence, play partisan politics and pander to the media. Two of the five are regularly hypocrites, and one is consistently disingenuous -- all while getting paid $1,000 per month.

Partisan politics, pandering to the media, being hypocrites and being disingenuous does not solve the city's many problems.
