Poverty can hamper learning, but it isn't a barrier

No matter what financial situation you are in, you should never blame poverty for your failure to achieve something great such as doing well in school. Sure, poverty might make it hard for you to achieve what you want, but not trying at all certainly isn't the answer.

Every day, teachers come to school to try and give you an education. Although some might not be the best, you still don’t just give up. Just because you don’t have what everyone else has doesn't mean you just give up and don't try.

I know teachers who mean the world to students and changed their life just by encouraging them to do better. Now these kids have totally changed just by a few encouraging words telling them that they can do something great, no matter what.
