Pro sports have tuned athletes into millionaires

The year started out with the millionaire golfers playing for big prizes. The millionaire baseball players started playing for a shot at The World Series. In July and August, the millionaire football players start their quest for the Super Bowl. Then later on the millionaire basketball players begin their season.

The only millionaires who really earn their money are the golfers. If they don't make the cut, they don't get paid.

I've got no complaint with the salaries being paid. As long as the owners are willing to pay millions and have the choice to raise ticket and concession prices, the players would be stupid not to accept.

Sports has given people with talent a chance to live a life they had only hoped for. More power to them. Sports, I think, has made more millionaires than any business except maybe Wall Street.
