Once again, I am dismayed to read how our hard-earned tax dollars are wasted!
The Feb. 10 front page printed an article, "Inmates annoy utility workers by jamming toilets, lines." After reading, my first thoughts were of many bad boys being cute. When I read how much each incident cost us taxpayers, I then wondered where common sense went.
Because of what was used to jam toilets and lines, surely the jailers know who did the jamming. Sheets, towels and other items missing? Punish the inmate by removing the toilet, sealing the line, and installing a slop bucket. See how long the inmates enjoy smelling the contents until the bucket is emptied. And please, don't tell me about inhumane treatment.
I'm so tired of paying for wasted taxes. Annoy is hardly the word I would have chosen to describe these criminal acts.
