As a retired educator, I found it so disheartening to read that Purdue University Calumet is being forced to limit its dual credit program because of lack of financial support from the state. Some of our brightest high school students will no longer have an opportunity to enroll in these classes.

This is occurring in Indiana, which has such a large budget surplus that there is debate about what to do with all the excess funds.
