Reject Obama's class envy rhetoric, strive for success
Most great societies crumble from within because of a decline in morals and a divided citizenry. Class envy is a major cause. President Barack Obama promised to unite this country in 2008 but has done just the opposite.
The 10th Commandment states, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's possessions." It is truly sad that Obama encourages Americans to violate that commandment with his class envy rhetoric.
Garnering political support by fomenting class division is an age old political play. If we would quit focusing on what others have and focus on improving our own lives, we'd be much better off.
When success is reviled and poverty glorified, it leads to bitterness and a victimhood mentality. Most people end up in life where their actions have taken them. Mean-spirited envy poisons one's spirit, which hampers success.
Money and possessions are not the only or most important measure of success. God loves the poorest among us as much as the wealthiest.
With rare exceptions, success is attained through hard work and diligent effort, not through "luck." It's been said that when hard work and opportunity collide, good luck often results.
Let us reject Obama's class envy rhetoric and strive to better ourselves for the betterment of our entire society.
May God bless America, Obama and the poorest and wealthiest among us.
