Remember you moved into somebody's back yard

We have lived on the block in Washington Township (where the proposed redevelopment is) for almost 30 years, and for those protesting we say, "Tough noogies."

We moved to Washington Township before there was a bypass. Our two children graduated from Washington Township School when it was just the one building and the gym. We used to take our rottweiler for walks and enjoy nature where Streamwood Drive, Meadowbrook Drive, Long Prairie and Pine Creek Estates now occupy.

No one living there now worried about our taxes going up (we had to pay for a new school that our children long graduated from), and we have seen arrest notices from Pine Creek addresses.

So when protesters say, "Not in my back yard," please remember that you moved into somebody's back yard.

We look forward to the new development and realize that life is all about progress. We would rather live in an area that is developing than dying.
