Representation in Washington isn't very representative

I don't know what kind of government we have in the United States. We have, by design, severe unequal representation in the "filibustering" Senate. Our elections are "filtered" by the electoral college that installed Mr. Mission Accomplished in power even though he lost the popular vote by over 400,000 votes. The Supreme Court denied a recount vote in Florida that might have declared Gore the winner.

The Republicans now control the House even though they had 1.5 million less votes than the Democrats in the last election. Our "fungible" solders, as they were called by Rumsfeld, have been forced to stay in the service past their agreed-to enlistment periods.

The great majority of Americans want some type of assault rifle legislation, but the Republicans are not interested in their opinion. Our legislators' votes are influenced and controlled by lobbyists.

This is a democracy? God help us!
