Republicans clamber for spending cuts to solve the swollen debt. They focus on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. How quickly they forget the Cheney-Rumsfeld bogus multi-trillion-dollar Iraq war for the military fat cats. How quickly they forget Bush's trillion-dollar tax break to the rich or his unfunded drug plan. How quickly they forget irresponsible bankers who bypassed underwriters, then bundled their bad loans into "high-yield bonds" and disposed of them into middle-class pension plans.

How quickly they forget that the U.S.A. spends more on our military than the 10 next biggest military forces. More than 90 percent of the debt was caused by this "forgotten spending." So who do the Republicans hold responsible for bringing the debt in line? You guessed it: the retired and people in ill health who paid into the system. Republicans can spin their lies, but don't you forget when it's time to vote.
