Here's my rebuttal to the letter, "Dangerous dog is running on the loose in Hammond"
I adopted the dog in 2011. He is a gentle giant. He loves to play. This dog wouldn't hurt a Chihuahua. I know this because our Chihuahua and this dog play without incident.
He is kept in the house, outdoor kennel or the backyard to do his business. On occasion, he will run into the fenced-in front yard. He is immediately taken back in. He is a very loving dog. He is a guard dog.
We have reason to believe he was abused before we adopted him. He has been teased by neighbors. A neighbor reached over the fence, ignoring the signs posted.
He accepted a couple he's never met (Oct. 7). No incident. He does not roam the neighborhood.
He can't speak for himself. I am standing up for him. Respect a dog's home, and you will be respected. Do not tease dogs.
