Romney won on style, Obama won on substance

The Oct. 3 presidential debate was interesting. Mitt Romney won on style, while President Barack Obama won on substance.

Romney looked and sounded as if he had conviction, which means he’s either convinced himself the lies he was telling are true or he’s a very good actor. But most surprising to me was that Obama allowed Romney to say five different times that Obama had raided Medicare of $716 billion, which is not what occurred.

Romney was well coached and was attentive, watching Obama and smiling the whole time his opponent spoke. Obama mostly looked down and wrote notes when Romney spoke or frowned like he was upset with what Romney had said. That was a mistake.

Neither made a misstep.

I was aware of noticing Romney's hair. His hair is perfectly graying at the temples, which makes him look more handsome and distinguished. I went back and found pictures of him a few years ago, and his hair was doing the same distinguishing thing. I wonder how often he goes to his hair person to get that $800 hair color and cut. He does look good; phony, but sharp.
