Same-sex marriage is immoral

2012-06-29T23:00:00Z Same-sex marriage is immoral nwitimes.com

Marriage is a moral line, a commitment shared by one man and one woman who promise eternal love to one another. The anticipated result of this love is the procreation of another human being. The physicality of the sexes -- be it through divine design or evolution -- is ultimately to procreate humanity.

As a society, we live with and accept both gay and lesbians as human beings -- as equals. Yet as a society, we must realize and understand the differences. The male and female species of all living beings have reproduction in their genetic structure.

While understanding gays and lesbians can fall in love and pledge their eternal love for each other, it is their abnormal, unnatural and immoral sexual lifestyle that prevents the procreation of humanity.

While civil unions are acceptable, the government has no authority to equate an abnormal lifestyle with the intended sanctity of marriage.
