In reference to Marc Chase's June 20 column, "Sometimes forgiveness contradicts justice."

After giving us the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), Jesus states, "If you forgive others their transgressions, your Heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions." (Matthew 6:14).

Unqualified forgiveness is a fundamental requirement of Christianity.

One cannot pray the Lord's Prayer without having unqualified forgiveness for others.
