Could it be any easier? Rich James, the mouthpiece of the Lake County Democrat machine, assures us county government is already cut to the bone. The county complex must be a ghost town? Nope, it’s a-buzzing.

County employees must be leaving in droves because of cuts to their pay and benefits. Where are the help-wanted ads for county jobs? None? That’s right; you can’t get a county employee out of his/her job with a crowbar.

The Times wants its bus service back. Remember? Scores of empty buses going to and fro, crisscrossing the county, and in each bus was one bus driver and one passenger. Warms the heart, doesn’t it? A Dodge Neon would have sufficed.

Think 1.5 percent is horrible? Wait till you experience 4 percent. It’s coming. Speak up now or get stuck with the check. It’s your funeral.
