I wish to respond to Nancy Mills' Dec. 18 letter about Sodom and Gomorrah.

As a retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer, I take great pride in knowing I have risked my life, in 13 countries, to protect women and children.

Now, about this loving "God" I am supposed to revere: Isn't He the same Biblical icon who caused the great flood which drowned all living things, to include, thousands of women and innocent children along with, again, thousands of women and innocent children living in Sodom and Gomorrah? Today, do we not refer to this type of mass murder as genocide?

Of course, according to your Bible, if He hadn't added a female (Eve) to the mix, we men would all be immortal god-like beings — shame on you females. Yes, Nancy, I enjoy a good fairy tale. Please, tell me more.
