I would like to thank the community member athletic director search interview committee at Crete-Monee 201-U for taking two days out of their busy schedules to interview the five candidates.

Their unanimous recommendation, as well as the high school principals interview team's recommendation, was an internal candidate, Greg Schneider.

The two committees were instructed by the superintendent to rank the candidates, which seemed odd to me. The community committee refused to endorse anyone other than Schneider.

The superintendent and human resources chief also interviewed the five candidates, and the superintendent's top choice was Linda Peete. She was subsequently voted in on a 4-1 vote. Mine was the only no vote.

Crete-Monee 201-U should not wonder why so many top-notch people like our state championship head football coach and others move to other districts so frequently.

I speak for myself, not for the 201-U board.
