On behalf of the Steger-area Knights of Columbus Council 14562 and Council Grand Knight Michael Smith, we wish to thank everyone who contributed to our 2012 fundraiser. Donations go directly to local, state and national programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

Money local residents donated in 2011 was sent to the Misericordia Home, Special Olympics South Cook-Will, South Star Services, Echo School and New Hope Center.

We are in the process of selecting the 2012 recipients.

Council 14562, established in 2007, has more than 60 members from Beecher, Crete, Park Forest, South Chicago Heights and Steger.

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic, fraternal, family and service organization with nearly 1.7 million members worldwide. For more information about the Knights of Columbus, visit www.kofc.org or www.mnknights.org
