Recently, I overheard a conversation concerning newly appointed Pope Francis. We all know about the debate concerning the terms Latino or Hispanic.
The term Hispanic proved to be convenient for this group, but in the most terribly, irreverent context.
In America, adults have the freedom to join or leave a religion or to chose to be non-affiliated. But if that freedom is based upon bigotry, please take a few days to study the changing demographics of the United States.
If you self-classify as Caucasian, you might be interested to know that your children, grandchildren and especially great-grandchildren are somewhat likely to marry a person of color, announce they are gay and possibly marry a person of the same sex. They also might decide to chose science over religion or be something in between.
So just imagine how your family dinner conversation might change!
