Think twice before voting straight Democrat Nov. 6

In response to the Oct. 2 letter by Wally Hartman of Griffith, “Vote straight Democrat to keep our benefits in place,” I agree we should keep our Social Security and Medicare as is. But I beg to differ to vote straight Democrat.

It was the Democrat administration under President Lyndon Johnson that passed the law to take money from Social Security to pay for social and domestic payouts.

It was the Democrat administration under President Barack Obama that took $719 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare. It was the Democrat administration under Obama that instituted an HHS mandate to give free contraception and abortion-inducing drugs. It was the Democrat administration under Obama that passed Obamacare that will appoint ethics panels to determine major medical treatment for people 75 and over.

So, seniors and all Americans, think twice before pulling that straight Democrat lever on Nov. 6.
