Tomes' plan would sell guns to people who care

In a recent Rich James column, it became apparent he has some level of disregard for the people of Posey County. His column focused on state Sen. Jim Tomes.

James describes the senator as "one of those Tea Party guys" who wants a Bible in every classroom and would like to see school teachers recite the Lord's Prayer. Interesting enough, James thanked God that this bill died.

The column really focuses on Tomes' support of a bill to sell and recycle guns acquired through a gun buyback program. These guns would be documented and sold through a legal process that firearms dealers use. The revenue would be used for local police departments.

Seems to me we would be taking guns off the street and lawfully putting them in the hands of people who care about protecting themselves and others.
