I am wondering if the people opposing the Illiana Expressway are aware there is also a proposal to install an Illiana rail bypass sharing the Illiana right of way with a double track 60 mph rail corridor.

It is expected to be completed by 2020 and would host 50 to 100 trains per day. For more information, see Trains Magazine's September 2013 edition.
