The management of our government is the responsibility of the Congress, which is made up of so-called professionals hired by the American people.
This business includes such things as generating revenue by collecting taxes, setting budgets, buying items and services to sustain the business, providing services in exchange for the taxes collected, and of course balancing the budget, and of course if the business can make a profit (surplus), return it to the investors (taxpayers). This means those who actually paid taxes to support the business.
As with all businesses, audits are a valuable tool used to measure the performance of the business and the people who manage it. It would seem to me that an independent audit of all government functions and the managers as well should be done and results provided to all taxpayers.
I recommend these audits be completed a least six months prior to every election.
