We need more common sense on roads today

Just a snarky little note to columnist Mitch Barloga:

I'm already sharing the road with roller bladders, joggers, dog walkers, Boston Marathon wannabes, motorcycles, bicycles and the occasional golf cart. It's getting crowded out there.

None, I might add, wants to pull over or acknowledge a vehicle might be approaching, let alone stop at a stop sign or traffic light.

On the Glendale Boulevard bike path in Valpo, I have never seen a bicycle. They are also a rarity on the dilapidated Calumet Trail.

Instead of "Share the Road" signs, we might need "Use Common Sense" warnings.
