Well it's that time of year again. You know, the most wonderful time of the year. A time for friends and family (and buying expensive cars), exchanging presents (fought for on Black Friday), singing carols (do you see what I see, half off here and price cuts there). Then there are the delightful specials, timeless classics like "The (fill in the blank) who saved Christmas."
What have we done to this beautiful holiday? To paraphrase Jesus, "you have taken a holy thing and made it into a business."
The truth is that Christmas is not a "Winter Festival" or "Solstice Celebration." Like it or not, it is a religious holy day. We should be packing our churches instead of the malls.
Christmas celebrates God becoming human to be with the people he loves. And we do not "save" Christmas, Christmas saves us.
